   1  Superchess III uses an iterativesearch strategy,  the alpha/betaalgorithm, the killer heuristic,and a plausible  move  generatorin its search for the best move.The  program   simulates   humanthought  processes  by  limitingits search  to  the  interestinglines of play.
   1  Superchess III is also  able  tosolve mating problems by using afull width minimax search to therequired depth - up to seven plyfor a mate in four.
